October (2nd) BFOA Board Meeting – Minutes 10/19/09
Meeting took place at South Plantation HS
Start:
6:20 pm Present: Epstein, Gazzano, Simpson, Bowen, Baker,

Security
Issues at Football Venues: Gazzano advised the board of recent events at
Dillard High
School. There was a fight in the parking lot as well as on the
field amongst fans, however the officials were blocked in by
an unoccupied Police car. One of the fights spilled out and
fans were beating each other up basically on the trunk of one
of the officials car. The crew wasn’t escorted off the field,
and the crew was parked in general parking with the fans.
Gazzano suggested that this needs to be addressed with Rocky
Gillis and Damien Huttenhoff, or if they don’t help then FHSAA.
We will solicit the membership at tonight’s general membership
meeting to email the board if they have any similar incidents.
Treasurer
Information & Dues 2010:
Simpson
advised that Lightning delay payments were processed and
should be on their way to those members who submitted
lightning delay forms. He also advised game evaluators have
been paid as well. Simpson put together preliminary budgets
for next year (3 different proposals – $30, $35, $40 dues).
Davis made a motion to keep the membership dues at $35 (same
as this year) for next season. Second by Bowen, all in favor,
motion passed.
Banquet:
Vince Mundo has requested $200 for gifts at the banquet.
Gazzano made a motion that Vince Mundo is given the $200
needed to purchase gifts for the banquet. Second by Davis, all
in favor, motion passed.
Amendments:
Simpson will
read the proposed amendments tonight to members so they can
vote at the next general membership meeting.
Playoff
Hosting:
Bowen
advised that the first week is the toughest to get volunteers
to host. Epstein asked that Bowen put together a “recommended
list” for those that will host. A lengthy discussion was had
about pay for hosting, however nothing was firm on pay for
hosting.
