Pre-game Delays:
Games for which the start is delayed due to weather, and have no
subsequent delays fall under the previous policy:
* First Delay
- 7:00pm to 7:30pm, officials will give time without
compensation. It is further recognized that officials are
scheduled to be at the
game site one hour prior to the start of the game.
* Second Delay -
Game that begins any time between 7:30pm to 8:30pm, on field and
auxiliary officials will receive additional $15.00 game fee
compensation.
* Third Delay
- Game that begins any time between 8:30pm to 9:00pm, on field and
auxiliary officials will receive compensation listed above for the
Second Delay and will receive an additional $8.00 game fee
compensation for the Third delay.
In-Game Delays:
For games which start on time, but are delayed after kickoff,
officials will be compensated as follows:
$15.00 per official (including timer) for the first hour delay
$8.00 per official (including timer) for each additional hour,
rounded up to the nearest quarter-hour
If there are multiple delays during the game, the length of the
delays should be aggregated to determine the total delay.
Cancelled Games:
Games cancelled on site will be handled as follows:
If the game is cancelled before 8:30pm (or 1.5 hr delay
from scheduled start time), officials should submit game paperwork
reflecting $38 for on-field officials, and $22.50 for the timer.
If the game is cancelled at or after
8:30pm (or 1.5 hr delay from scheduled start time), officials
should submit paperwork and receive their full game fees. No
additional compensation will be made.
There is no need to complete a
Weather Delay Form because all compensation will be made using
game paperwork under the regular procedure.
Re-starts of Suspended Games:
Games restarted at a later date will be handled as follows:
Each official will receive the travel fee ($12.00) plus an
incremental rate depending on how much time is left in the game.
On-field officials receive $15.00 per quarter, timer receives
$7.25 per quarter.
There will be no charge for partial quarters.
Example: Friday’s game is suspended with 2:00 left in the first
quarter. It is then restarted the next Monday. For the re-start,
the on-field officials would receive $12.00 + $45.00 (3 quarters @
$15.00/quarter) for a total of $57.00. The timer would receive
$12.00 + $21.75 = $33.75.
Games delayed at the start and have subsequent in-game delays fall
under the in-game delay policy, and the delayed start should be
aggregated with any in-game delays to determine compensation.
No delay payments are due if the game is started, but is ended
within 2.5 hours of the scheduled start time.
It is recognized that Friday night games should not end after 12
midnight, and weekday games should not end after 11pm. Officials
should take steps to work with coaches and administration to
shorten games that will likely run past these curfews (i.e.
running clock or shortened quarters).
Weather policy for
SUB_VARSITY
games:
Games will be cancelled if play is not permitted within 30 minutes
of the scheduled start time. If the game is cancelled,
officials should submit paperwork to the school that includes
travel fees only.
There will be no payments for weather delays in sub-varsity
contests. |
